labels - you would think the hard part is what you put in the label. Thats only the start of it. Cheese has to go away for testing. Used by dates, allergens, nutritional value which is easy as what the lab tells me I will put on the label.

As for the label - is it food grade, Is it waterproof as it will go in the fridge. Has it got the mwow factor. Do you use generic lables and then add by hand the batch number, use by date and weight and price? or do you do individual lables. Do you buy your own label printer or have them professionally made? If writing on packaging it has to be edible ink. There is loads to this safe food production behind the scenes that as a consumer we dont always think about. Persoanlly I am glad of food standards agency work keeping us all safe.

We have opted for professionally made food hygiene grade waterproof labels. generic labels and add the changing variables with edible ink pen by hand.  Such as used by, weight etc Variable to change however depending on Environmental health confirmation that ist safe as always.
